PostgreSQL Database Migration QA Engineer:
Onsite from Day 1
📌 Test Planning & Strategy
Develop detailed test plans, strategies, and test cases for PostgreSQL migration (functional, regression, integration, performance).
Identify risks and define acceptance criteria while collaborating with DBAs, developers, and architects.
📌 Data Validation & Reconciliation
Perform pre- and post-migration validation to ensure data integrity, schema compatibility, and correctness of procedures, views, and triggers.
Validate data consistency and completeness across source & target using SQL, reconciliation methods, and sampling techniques.
Investigate discrepancies, perform RCA, and ensure quick issue resolution.
Automate database validation scripts using SQL + scripting languages and integrate into CI/CD.
📌 Performance & Security Testing
Test database performance, query optimization, response times, and indexing.
Validate RBAC, security configurations, permissions, and compliance in the AWS landing zone.
📌 Environment & Infrastructure Testing
Validate AWS components such as RDS, EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch.
Verify connectivity, network rules, security groups, backup procedures, DR setup, monitoring, and alerting.
🧪 Required Technical Skills
5+ years in QA/testing with 2+ years in database-focused QA.
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL & advanced SQL queries.
Experience in AWS cloud services (RDS, EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch).
Knowledge of ETL testing & CI/CD-driven automation.
Scripting proficiency (Python, Shell) and familiarity with tools like JIRA, TestRail, qTest.
